Lock it or lose it

About Kantrob

Built by someone who got tired of the problem

The KNOTTLOCK was designed by an engineer who kept seeing the same problem over and over again: when a trailer was stolen, very often the lock wasn’t on the hitch.

To stop opportunist theft, the lock needs to be where it belongs — on the trailer. Nobody wants to pull into a service station in the rain, get down on their knees and start assembling a complicated hitch lock. KNOTTLOCK goes on quickly and stays on.

The lock that’s on the trailer can protect it. The lock left in the shed can’t.

How it is made

  • Cast stainless steel
  • 2.5 kg
  • Designed and assembled in Ireland

Cast in stainless steel, 2.5 kg, and built around the Knott coupling so it can stay on the trailer while you tow.

The patent and design position

  • Patent pending
  • Design registration pending

The KNOTTLOCK is patent pending. A design registration has been lodged and is not yet granted.

Why it exists

A lock that has to come off before you tow is a lock that spends most of its life off. That is the whole problem, and it is the reason Kantrob is designed to stay fitted.
